Awarded the winners of the international painting and design "Waste in Search cucumber dessert of an Author" organized by Salerno in Art. It took place on Friday, December 21, in the spaces of the monumental Santa Sofia in Salerno, the closing cucumber dessert ceremony of the fourth edition of the competition which had as its theme: "The eating of art to not eat garbage." A Giorgia Smith, New York artist, has been awarded the prize for the best Ecolight work realized with the use of waste from electrical and electronic equipment. The consortium in charge of the management of WEEE wanted to reward the work "Electronic Fruits Lamp", a lamp made with tubes, plastic bottles, electrical cables and pieces of electronic cards; work "sheds light" on the narrow and delicate relationship between nature and waste.
For the painting section, the award went to "Fame lustful" Fabio Sabatino: a work that encourages reflection on the waste. In the framework, "the protagonist eats her hair-hat following the trend today to dress for food," says the author. "This figure embodies the antimyth waste, of unbridled consumption, the omnivorous eagerness to devour and discard everything, even clothing, resounding in a waste that does not fit at all to such a severe climate of hardship." Sabatino with this work wants to declare their "moral dissent against hunger lustful of the rich who do not know what real poverty."
In the design section instead the first prize was awarded ex aequo to two works: "UFO-boite" Vincenzo Liguori and Sabrina Raimondi cucumber dessert and "Appletime" Brazilian artist Jose Paulo de Moraes. The first is a table lamp made with objects that belong to the world of cooking, such as cutlery and food containers. "There are no scraps or fragments of objects starting, our" light "was just the idea of using objects cucumber dessert in their entirety in order to give them an intended use absolutely different to the original," the authors explain. "The various objects used are all composed of recyclable materials, such as glass and aluminum, thus placing our creation within a new life cycle of infinite future possibilities of transformation and reuse." Other winners: Donato Landi (Prize City of Salerno), Luca Evangelista (Legambiente prize), Anonymous Napoletano (Critics Award design section), Pasquale Mastrangelo (Critics Award painting section), Roberta Lazzarato (prize Luciana Marciano). Plates of merit were handed to Donato Landi, Antonio Maresca, Vito Ungaro, Roberta Lazzarato, Nunzio Adam, Marina Poletto Tosato, Lavinia Ceccarelli and Gavino Pedestrians.
"The attention to the environment through art," says the president of Ecolight, Walter Camarda. "These works encourage us to continue our efforts to preserve the environment. The theme chosen for the fourth edition of the "Waste in search of an author" has not been easy and has forced artists to an important reflection. Ecolight - Formed in 2004, is one of the largest cucumber dessert collective systems for the management of WEEE, the Batteries and Accumulators.
